The Department of Cardiology at Fortis Hospital Shalimar Bagh New Delhi been providing cardiac care for more than two decades. It was shifted to superspeciality block in 2015. It has developed world class cardiology centre with cardiac care facility comparable to any advanced cardiology centre in the world.
Facilities for clinical care and has fully developed facilities for adult and pediatric interventions including coronary interventions under imaging guidance (OCT and IVUS), valvuloplasty, device closure of congenital shunts and electrophysiology services (including radiofrequency ablation, pacemaker, bi-ventricular pacemaker, and cardioverter defibrillator implantation) with 4 states of the art Cardiac Cath Lab. 1 Biplane cath lab is dedicated for electrophysiology procedures.
Laboratory testing facilities include treadmill testing,Ambulatory BP Monitoring, holter recording, echocardiography (including transthoracic, transesophageal), electrophysiology testing including CARTO system mapping. Also, assessment of functional significance of coronary artery disease can be done through Fractional Flow Reserve. Department has recently started Transcatheter Aortic Valve replacement (TAVR) and is one of the few government hospitals in India performing this procedure. We have also initiated physiological pacing (His-bundle pacing and Left bundle branch area pacing).
